The Connection: 2021
Learn. Create. Collaborate.
Convention-Shattering Virtual Professional Development Brought To You By The Library Collective
The Connection, aka LibCon, is a new + vibrant online community + line-up of events throughout March 2021 designed to offer useful, fun, and affordable virtual professional development to library workers!
This is not another panel presentations via Zoom situation! Instead, our virtual gathering has three main features:
- Awesome live online events each week in the form of all-attendee plenary sessions and creative social gatherings!
- Peer-reviewed content to read, watch, listen to, explore, and engage with at your own pace (and time zone). From podcasts to dork shorts, crowd-sourced projects to playlists, see our Call for Collaboration to read about the rich possibilities!
- Access to a 24/7 community of fellow library workers to converse and collaborate with throughout the month on our privacy-forward digital platform. From community-submitted articles to fun polls to conversation starters, there’s a place for all voices in our inclusive and positive space!
HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE CONNECTION:
- Live sessions that actively engage everyone, hold your attention, and stoke your curiosity and imagination!
- Meaningful discussions that foreground our Community Guidelines of mutual respect and inclusion!
- An open peer review process for contributing content!
- Thoughtful and creative networking and social interactions!
- Weird, fun, funky, and fantastic surprises throughout, including prizes + giveaways!
- Some cool thank you swag via snail mail!
And, as with our other events, an uncommonly affordable registration fee under $100!
