Past Work
As one example of our past collaborations, The Library Collective partnered with LeadLocal. We offered a series of Digital Drop-Ins (read: webinars that don’t suck!) online and in-person training focused on design-thinking for library leadership, kind of like a mini-Collective with fun social networking and a whole lot of hands-on learning!
We focused this series on a skill we think is sorely lacking in many libraries: leadership!
Design Thinking for Library Leadership was a hands-on, practical workshop all about learning by doing.
Participants identified an adaptive leadership challenge (that they or other libraries face), formed a team, and tackled the challenge by establishing a framework for leading change by design. Hands-on, team learning offered the opportunity to adapt design thinking tools and collaborate with colleagues.

Digital Drop-Ins
Digital Drop-Ins were an experiment in our creative reimagining of the webinar format. For this series, we started with a brief insight interview with our Conversation Catalyst around their work in innovative library leadership. Then the guest offered a lean, mean, hands-on demo of one of the Conversation Catalyst’s favorite innovation or leadership tools. Each session wrapped up with a Q&A session to answer questions.
